The Summer Trail Takeover: SLTC races sizzled this summer
What an extraordinary summer season for the St. Louis Track Club! From the high-energy, sweat-equity evenings of our inaugural Summer Trail Series to the crisp morning at the 2026 Corps of Discovery Trail Races, our trail community proved that the running scene in St. Louis is stronger, faster, and more connected than ever. Together, we conquered the heat, tackled the singletrack, and celebrated every single milestone along the way.
Summer Trail Series a huge success
When the St. Louis Track Club secured permits with just six weeks to bring back the 2026 Summer Trail Series, we knew the pressure was on. But standing at Castlewood State Park over those five hot, humid Thursday nights, watching hundreds of runners cross the finish line, we were reminded of why this community is so special. Together, the runners logged more than 2,100 miles, shared 500+ hot dogs, enjoyed lots of cold brews, and even witnessed a finish-line engagement!
Most importantly, the incredible turnout allowed us to give right back to the dirt we love by raising $753 directly for Castlewood State Park. To our amazing sponsors — Alpine Shop and Terrain Magazine — and to every single runner and volunteer who brought the energy: THANK YOU. You made this series truly historic.

A big expedition at Weldon Spring
On Saturday, August 29th, Mother Nature gave us absolute perfection on the bluffs of the Missouri River: cool temperatures, clear skies, and prime trail conditions.
Our trail family answered the call in a big way. We had 184 registrations for the Corps of Discovery Races — a huge jump from the 150 runners that signed up last year! Whether tackling the 5-mile Clark loop, rugged 8-mile Lewis ridges, or the full 13.1-mile adventure, the grit and energy at the trailhead were unmatched.
