Corps of Discovery Half Marathon and 5M

When: September 5, 2020, 8:00 am
Where: Lewis and Clark Trail

Registration: Half Marathon is $60, 5M is $45 through 8/21, price increase 8/22

SLTC Members save $10.

Swag: Race tank top included with registration. THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER AND RECEIVE A TANK TOP IS 8/21.
Map/Course: Half Marathon runners will head out in a counter clockwise direction on the Clark trail. After heading down into the bottoms and crossing the two creek beds the runners will pass the first Lewis trail connector and head up the endless road climb. On the first loop half marathon runners will make a right onto the second Lewis trail connector.  After completing the Lewis section, runners will go  left back onto the Clark trail and head back up the endless climb. After arriving back at the start/finish the runners will run one loop of the Clark trail. The course will not be closed to outside use. There will be markings along the course and a volunteer where the trails split. The 5-mile option will cover 1 loop of the Clark trail.
Aid: All participants are encouraged to carry water with them. There will be 3 aid stations on course with both water and Tailwind. Please dispose of trash in the provided receptacles. We must leave the trail in the same or better condition as we found it. Basic first aid will be available at all manned aid stations. There will be an ambulance and porta potties at the trail head. 
Cutoff: All participants must be through the 8-mile aid station within 2.5 hours after the last wave leaves or they will be pulled from the course. The event time limit is 4 hours.
Parking: Parking will be available at FRANCIS HOWELL HIGH SCHOOL 7001 S Missouri 94, St Charles, MO 63304 on race morning. DO NOT park at the trail head. Shuttles will be provided to take runners and spectators to the trail head and back. Highway 94 is very busy, so, for everyone’s safety, please use caution and use the shuttles! Coming from Hwy 40, the high school is on the right. Packet pickup and race day registration will be available from 6:45-8:30 on race morning at Francis Howell High School parking lot. Participants are expected to follow the American Trail Running Association Rules on the Run.
Awards: Top three overall male and female for each distance. 
Post Race Fun: The SLTC will also host a post-race party. We’ll provide the recovery food in the form of protein (likely a burger, but really, whatever looks tastiest when we go shopping!) and a beer for everyone. Please, DO NOT bring your beer back on the shuttle.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: No refunds, entries are not transferable to other events but may be transferred to another person before 9/2.

The safety of our participants is our highest priority. Races will be held rain, snow, or shine and will not be cancelled except for cases of severe weather or unsafe road/trail conditions. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or post event activities to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. We are a nonprofit organization and all net proceeds are used to further the St. Louis Track Club’s mission in the community. As such, no refunds or credits will be given in the case of cancellation due to weather.
