Susan Pruchnicki

Name: Susan Pruchnicki

Age: 42

Born: New Jersey, and no, we didn’t have an exit. We had a rural delivery address and I was in 4-H

Occupation: Architect, one of the owners of Bond Wolfe Architects

Family: Tom (significant other); my parents still live near Flemington, N.J.

Favorite restaurant: Remy’s

Favorite movie: Joe vs. The Volcano

Favorite book: Mastering The Art of French Cooking vol. 1

Why did you start running/walking: I started regularly jogging when we adopted a Border Collie named

Lucy who isn’t content just walking around the block. She is my always enthusiastic running buddy and loves

it when the running shoes come out

Running/walking since: On and off since college

SLTC member since: 2006

How did you learn about the SLTC: Tom Peterson was the architect on the renovation of the Lindell

Pavilion, so I heard about the club and facilities there. Also, I saw the stencils on the Forest Park path so I

figured there was some organized group behind them

Weekly mileage: My mileage varies because of work and other obligations

Favorite place to run/walk: Around my neighborhood in U City. I enjoy seeing all the houses and gardens

up close. There is a spot on my regular run where I can see evidence of a squirrel jumping out of a tree, landing

in the wet cement on the sidewalk and freaking out. We call it the “Squirrel Splat.”

Favorite workout: I travel around a bit and enjoy running in new places. My favorite out-of-town run was

around the Mall in Washington D.C.

Favorite performance: Finishing the OK City 1/2-marathon after being sidelined with a stress fracture the

year before

Favorite SLTC event: Frostbite

Other: I love running with my dog, Lucy, and everyone at the Frostbite series was very welcoming of us and

cheering us on.
