Favorite restaurant: Tony’s, but I don’t go there very often!

Favorite movie: One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

Why did you start running/walking: After I saw Frank Shorter run in the Olympic Marathon I decided that I would like to do the same and started to run in 1976.

Running/walking since: 1976

SLTC member since: 1980

How did you learn about the SLTC: through other runners

Weekly mileage: about 27 miles

Favorite place to run/walk: starting at Forest Park and running various routes from there, depending on the distance I’m doing

Favorite workout: to just be able to run 6 to 12 miles every other day

Most satisfying performance: qualifying for the Boston Marathon after trying for 10 years and my PR for a marathon done here in St. Louis

Favorite SLTC event: the Marathon and the Stadium Run

What do you like about the SLTC: the opportunity to meet other runners and to have made many good friends doing something I love to do and be competitive at

What do you want others to know about you: Hopefully that I’ve been a good friend to many and also helpful in any way I could to help them with an injury problem or be able to give them some helpful tips to improve their running performance.  Also, that I have volunteered to help out at many races in thanks for the tremendous job that I think the SLTC does.
