Name: Kai-Uwe Ulrich Age: 41 Born: Karlsruhe, Germany. I grew up in a village near
Heidelberg, where my parents still live. Occupation: Environmental scientist Family: Wife Sabine, son Veit (12) and daughter Filine
(9), all proud SLTC members Favorite restaurant: Since I have been here in St. Louis, I have
never been twice to any restaurant -- there are
too many! Favorite movie: Das Leben der Anderen Favorite book: A Short History of Nearly Everything (Bill
Bryson) Why did you start
running/walking: Because my
parents did. Being outdoors and getting faster was great fun. Running/walking
since: about 1978 SLTC member since: 2007 How did you learn
about the SLTC: When signing up
for the first running events in St. Louis Weekly mileage: Mostly limited by work and family obligations,
my mileage rarely exceeds 35 miles. Favorite place to
run/walk: Forest Park, because
it is so close to where we live. Favorite workout: Interval speed training Favorite performance: Berlin Marathon in 1987 (still personal record
2:53) Favorite SLTC event: Frostbite and Road Series - both are favorites
at their time What do you like
about the SLTC: Well-organized
running events are great opportunities to meet enthusiastic people Other: Running is my big deal to relax from work,
refresh my mind and seek the challenge. |
