Name: Jordan Stone
Age: 32
Born: Amarillo, Texas
Occupation: Teacher/Coach
Family: Angie (wife)
Favorite restaurant: Pasta House
Favorite movie: Braveheart
Favorite book: The Perfect Mile
Why did you start running/walking: One day during track in 7th grade I was hooked. That was 20
years ago! I knew that day I had found my calling.
Running/walking since: winter 1986
SLTC member since: off and on several times since 1987
How did you learn about the SLTC: The 1987 St. Patrick’s Day Run had applications out on a table.
I picked one up and joined right afterward.
Weekly mileage: These days 15-20 miles, in the old days 35-65 miles (too many injuries to train like
that now).
Favorite place to run/walk: Forest Park, Creve Coeur Park, any state park trail
Favorite workout: Repeat miles, repeat 1,000s—I love the intensity of track workouts.
Favorite performance: Tie: 1995 V.P. Fair 10K (35:48) & 1995 City of Roses Half Marathon (1:20:51)
What do you like about the SLTC: There are so many wonderful, organized events to choose
Other: I run for the love of it. I am slower today when I was 13 years old. However, I continue to
compete because the quest to be the best you can be is such a special thing. I’m so lucky to have been

involved with this wonderful sport for nearly two-thirds of my life!
