Why did you start running/walking: Because it felt good, I was pretty good at it, and I thought it was healthy

Running/walking since: grade school, about 1940

How did you learn about the SLTC: from pictures of runners in a SLTC race shown in the St. Louis Post Dispatch

Weekly mileage: 10 running, 10 walking

Favorite place to run/walk: Sioux Passage Park, Forest Park, Hazelwood Central Track

Favorite workout: no real favorite, but like a mix of speedwork and long, slow distance

Most satisfying performance: finishing second in the U.S. in the 800 meter and 1500 meter at the U.S. Masters Track and Field meet in Decatur in 2004

Favorite SLTC event: Frostbite Series

What do you like about the SLTC: friendly, helpful people and the events they sponsor

What do you want others to know about you: Catholic, married 50 years, 4 children, retired engineer from McDonnell Douglas, graduate of McBride High School, Washington University, Northwestern University, member of the SLTC for 35 years
