Name: Jack Frohlichstein Track Club Member: since the beginning! Jack is a charter member from
1970, and his SLTC member number is 0005. Running/Walking: Jack started running in the 1960s at the University of
Oregon. Occupation: Jack is retired, but can be found working at the Muny
during the summer. How did you learn about the SLTC?: Jack saw an ad in the newspaper asking if
anyone wanted to create a running club.
A few days later at a meeting at the YMCA, the St. Louis Track Club
was born! Most Memorable Event: Jack has amassed quite a list of memorable events - 11
years of running 105 or more races per year, 2 years of running over 120
races per year, 44,000 total miles (plus or minus a marathon or so), 2,350
total races, over 4,000 miles of swimming (cross-training you know). His all-time favorite events include those
at Heman Park and the 2002 Fair St. Louis. What do you like about the SLTC?: Jack appreciates how
people accept his new “speed”. He
