Name: Adrienne Rosen Age: 62 Born: St. Louis Occupation: artist and art teacher at schools and home
studio Family: husband - Martin “Mickey”, 4 children - Missy,
Val, Alex, Marissa, 3 step children, 8 grandchildren, and Sugar Baby - our
puppy Favorite Restaurant: Macaroni’s Favorite movie: Dr. Zhivago Favorite book: Eight Weeks to Optimum Health by Dr. Weil Why did you start
running/walking: I knew I needed
more exercise, and my son Alex was running then. He dragged me to a race to watch him run, and I was overtaken
with the urge to run too. So I started training at the track! Running/walking since: 1977 SLTC member since: 1977 How did you learn
about the SLTC: My son Alex
joined the club, and I was doing races.
I joined then, went to every one of the races, and volunteered
regularly. Weekly mileage: about 15 miles Favorite place to
run/walk: Creve Coeur Lake Park,
and west county locations Favorite workout: Running around Creve Coeur Lake Park, which is
about 6 miles. I also enjoy tap and belly dancing classes for flexibility Most satisfying
performance: 1978 Chicago
Marathon - first marathon in 4:40. I
had a great time and loved the huge crowds cheering me on and entertaining us Favorite SLTC event: Fair St. Louis What do you like
about the SLTC: I loved the
friendliness of the volunteers and staff, and the well-organized races. Every race or program is very well planned
and enjoyable. I enjoy seeing my
friends at the events too. What do you want others to know about you: I am a busy wife, mother, artist, and teacher,
but I make time daily for running and working out with weights. It’s fun and the best way to maintain your
health and strength. I recommend
running or walking to my friends who are not into exercise. It’s very important to stay younger
physically and mentally. |
